Lucie fought with the Belgian resistance during the second world war, the organisation code-named her 'Lulu' - it was a name that stuck with her the rest of her life.

She was recruited at the age of fifteen when most young girls of that generation had not long put away their dolls. She became a valued member and soon moved into a combat roll, her actions won her the respect of her comrades in arms, the thanks of her nation and a collection of medals. It is this remarkable story which this website will help keep alive and which is currently being written as a full biography.

Lulu fought hard with her comrades and together with the allied forces they finally won the freedom they longed for on Sunday 3rd September 1944.

On February fourteenth two thousand and seven, Lulu fought her last battle and lost.
